Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to the Tideline on South Ocean Boulevard, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The exterior has this sort of understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier resorts further north on the island. But honestly? That turned out to be exactly what I loved about it. You’re literally right on the sand here, and I mean *right* on it – step out of the lobby and you’re basically already feeling that soft Palm Beach sand between your toes. The location is pretty sweet too, actually. You’re far enough south that you avoid the craziness around Worth Avenue (though it’s still totally walkable if you want to window shop or grab dinner at one of those ridiculously expensive places), but close enough that you feel like you’re actually in Palm Beach, not some random stretch of Florida coast.

The spa situation here is legitimately impressive – I mean, I’ve done my fair share of hotel spas, and this one actually lives up to the hype. They’ve got this whole oceanfront treatment thing going where you can literally hear the waves while you’re getting a massage, which sounds cheesy but is actually pretty amazing. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean, though honestly, some of the furniture feels a bit dated for a five-star property. Not terrible by any means, just… you know, could use a refresh. But the ocean views from the balconies more than make up for it, especially during sunrise (if you’re the type who gets up that early). Pro tip: the south-facing rooms get better light throughout the day, and you’ll actually catch glimpses of the Intracoastal if you crane your neck just right.

What really struck me, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. The concierge pointed me toward this little coffee spot on Sunrise Avenue that I never would’ve found otherwise, and the beach attendants actually warned me about the strong currents on the day I was there – turns out they were right, the red flags went up about an hour later. The pool area gets pretty busy during high season (basically November through April), but even then it never felt overwhelming. Parking is valet only, which can be a bit annoying if you’re the type who likes to hop in and out of your car frequently, but honestly, most places around here are the same way. The 7.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s definitely a solid property with some genuinely special moments, but it’s not quite hitting that “blow your mind” level that would put it in the 8+ range. Still, if you want that authentic Palm Beach oceanfront experience without the stuffiness of some of the older properties, this place delivers. Just don’t expect perfection, and you’ll probably leave pretty happy.
