HOTEL OVERVIEW
Honestly, the Walt Disney World Swan surprised me – and I thought I knew this area pretty well after years of Orlando trips. You pull up to this massive salmon-pink building with those giant swan statues on top (which are actually kind of endearing once you get used to them), and it feels like you’re stepping into something that’s fancy but not stuffy. The valet guys are quick, which matters when you’ve got cranky kids after a long day at the parks.
What really sets this place apart is the location – I mean, you’re literally walking distance to both Epcot’s back entrance and Hollywood Studios via the boat or that pleasant boardwalk stroll. But here’s what the brochures don’t tell you: you get all those Disney perks without staying at a Disney-owned property, which honestly feels like winning the lottery. Early park admission, Disney transportation, the whole nine yards. The pool area is where this place really shines though – that grotto pool with the waterfall and slide keeps the kids happy while you can actually relax for five minutes. Pro tip: the pool gets absolutely packed mid-afternoon, but early morning or after dinner? Perfect.
The rooms are solid – not groundbreaking, but they’ve clearly put money into keeping things updated. The beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have decent counter space, which you’ll appreciate when you’re getting four people ready for rope drop. You know what I love? The little details like having a coffee maker that doesn’t require an engineering degree to operate, and blackout curtains that actually work when you need to crash after a 14-hour park day. The resort fee situation is annoying – let’s be real about that – but the Wi-Fi is fast and the fitness center is surprisingly well-equipped if you’re trying to work off all those Dole Whips. One thing to note: if you’re on the lower floors facing the parking area, it can get a bit noisy with the buses and construction (Disney’s always building something), but honestly, you’ll be so tired you probably won’t care. The restaurants on-site are decent, though you’re also a quick walk to some fantastic spots along the BoardWalk if you want to venture out. Il Mulino is actually pretty impressive for hotel dining – their pasta doesn’t taste like it came from a bag, which is more than I can say for a lot of resort restaurants.

The location is so close to Hollywood Studios and Epcot! I took water taxi to Hollywood Studios and Epcot for 10 minutes and took bus to Animal Kingdom for 15 minutes. The farthest is Magic Kingdom, but still accessible.
