Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock

90 Ridge Trail Drive, Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, AZ 86351, United States
HOTEL OVERVIEW
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the Hilton Sedona – I mean, it’s a chain hotel, right? But the moment you drive down Ridge Trail Drive and see those red rocks towering behind the property, you get it. This place actually knows how to work with its setting instead of fighting against it. The resort sits right in the Village of Oak Creek, which is sort of Sedona’s quieter cousin – you’re close enough to all the action but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the crowds clogging up 89A every morning.
What really struck me was how they’ve designed everything around Bell Rock, which literally dominates your view from most of the rooms. I stayed in one of the casita-style buildings (they’re scattered around the property rather than stacked in some massive tower), and honestly, waking up to that red rock formation right outside your window never gets old. The rooms themselves are pretty standard Hilton fare – clean, comfortable, nothing revolutionary – but the balconies and patios make all the difference. You know what’s nice? The spa actually lives up to the hype, especially if you can snag one of the outdoor treatment areas. There’s something about getting a massage while listening to the wind through the junipers that just works.
The pool area gets packed during peak season (basically March through May and October), but if you time it right – early morning or late afternoon – you’ve got those views pretty much to yourself. Fair warning though: the restaurant can be hit or miss, and it’s definitely pricey for what you get. I’d honestly recommend driving the ten minutes into Sedona proper for dinner – you’ll hit some traffic on 179, but places like Elote Café or even just grabbing something at Whole Foods in the Tlaquepaque area gives you better options. The resort does nail the little things though – parking’s free (which isn’t a given in Sedona), the staff actually knows the hiking trails and can point you toward the less crowded spots, and they’ve got this nice fire pit area where you can hang out in the evenings. It’s not perfect – the 7.8 rating feels about right – but there’s something genuinely relaxing about this place that goes beyond just the red rock views. If you’re looking to decompress and don’t mind paying resort prices for the privilege, it delivers on that front.
