You know what struck me first about the Meliá Orlando Celebration? It’s actually *in* Celebration – not just nearby like so many hotels claim. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from that picture-perfect downtown area with the pastel buildings and the lake. It’s Disney’s planned community, so everything feels almost surreally clean and organized, but in a good way.

The hotel itself sits right on Celebration Place, and honestly, the location is pretty brilliant if you know the area. You’re about 10 minutes from Disney’s main gates, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of International Drive or the tourist madness of Lake Buena Vista. The thing is, Celebration has this weird bubble effect – it’s quiet, you can actually walk around at night, and there’s decent restaurants within a few blocks. I’ve stayed at places closer to the parks that felt way more disconnected from anything real.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that they’re dealing with families who’ve been dragged through Disney all day. Check-in was smooth even when we rolled up around 4 PM with cranky kids, and they actually helped us figure out the best route to Magic Kingdom (take Celebration Avenue to World Drive, by the way – avoids most of the traffic). The rooms are solid 4-star quality, nothing fancy but everything works. The beds are comfortable, which matters when you’re walking 20,000 steps a day, and the bathrooms are updated with good water pressure. There’s this nice courtyard pool area that gets busy around 3-4 PM when families come back for midday breaks, but it’s pretty peaceful in the evenings.

Here’s something you won’t read in the brochures – the hotel fills up with locals during Food & Wine Festival season because it’s easy access to Epcot without the resort prices. Smart move, honestly. Parking is free and plentiful, which is becoming rare around here, and they’ve got a decent grab-and-go market if you need breakfast bars or forgotten sunscreen without paying theme park prices. The fitness center is small but gets the job done, and it’s usually empty before 7 AM if you’re an early riser.

The only minor annoyance is that room service stops pretty early, and while Celebration has some good spots like Café D’Antonio, everything closes by 9 PM because it’s that kind of planned community. But honestly, after a Disney day, you’re probably ordering pizza anyway. The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s reliably good without any major surprises, positive or negative. If you want that “staying in a real place” feeling while still being close to the magic, this works really well.
