So here’s the thing about Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa – it’s one of those places that actually lives up to its reputation, which honestly doesn’t happen that often in Vero Beach. I mean, you’ve got plenty of beachfront spots along this stretch of Ocean Drive, but most of them feel either stuck in 1985 or trying way too hard to be Miami. This place finds that sweet spot in between.

The location is pretty much perfect if you know anything about Vero Beach. You’re right there on the ocean side of the barrier island, but far enough north of the main tourist clusters that you’re not dealing with crowds from Disney spillover families. The beach access is direct – no trudging through dunes or fighting for space with day-trippers from the mainland. What really gets me is how they’ve managed to keep that relaxed, old Florida vibe while still feeling polished. The rooms have this clean, coastal aesthetic without all the cheesy seashell décor you see everywhere else around here. And you know what? The spa actually knows what it’s doing. I’ve been to plenty of hotel spas that feel like afterthoughts, but they’ve clearly invested in proper therapists and equipment here.

Parking is straightforward (thank god), and check-in was refreshingly quick when I stayed during what’s usually their busy season in March. The staff seems to genuinely know the area too – not just the standard “oh, there’s a restaurant down the road” responses you usually get. They pointed me toward some local spots I hadn’t heard of, including this little seafood place on Indian River Drive that turned out to be incredible. The resort itself sits perfectly positioned to catch those ocean breezes, so even on humid summer days, the outdoor areas stay comfortable well into the evening. I will say the pool area can get a bit echoey when kids are around, but honestly, that’s pretty typical for any family-friendly resort. What impressed me more was how they manage to cater to families without making it feel like a Chuck E. Cheese situation – there’s definitely space for adults to find quiet corners. The restaurant on-site is solid too, which matters because while Vero Beach has some great dining, you don’t always want to drive somewhere after a day on the beach. Their seafood game is strong (as it should be this close to the water), and they source a lot locally, which you can actually taste. If you’re looking for that authentic coastal Florida experience without the Spring Break chaos of other beach towns, this place delivers. It’s got enough polish to justify the price point, but enough character to feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked another generic beach resort.
