HOTEL OVERVIEW

You know what struck me first about Big Sky Resort Village Center? It actually feels like a proper mountain town hub rather than just another ski lodge dropped in the middle of nowhere. When you pull up to 50 Big Sky Resort Road, you’re basically at the heart of everything Big Sky has to offer – I mean, the name gives it away, but it really does live up to that central location promise.

The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right between upscale mountain resort vibes and actually being functional for people who want to, you know, do stuff. The 4-star rating feels honest – it’s not trying to be some over-the-top luxury experience, but everything works well and the details are thoughtful. I stayed here during shoulder season in early October, and honestly, that 9.0 rating makes total sense. The staff seemed to genuinely know the area (always a good sign), and check-in was smooth even when they were clearly dealing with the usual Montana weather delays that had backed up arrivals.

What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. You can actually stroll to restaurants and shops without having to drive or wait for shuttles – which, if you’ve stayed at some of the more remote Montana properties, you’ll know is kind of a big deal. The village center setup means you’ve got options right outside your door, but you’re still surrounded by those ridiculous Big Sky views that make you stop mid-conversation and just stare. The rooms have this clean, mountain-modern thing going on without feeling sterile, and the windows are generous enough that you actually want to spend time looking out of them.

Parking was straightforward (no hunting around or paying extra fees), and the building itself doesn’t feel like a concrete block – there’s some actual character to the architecture. I will say, if you’re here during peak ski season, it’s going to be busy and you’ll want to book dinner reservations early because everyone staying in the village center area has the same idea about where to eat. But honestly, that energy can be pretty fun if you’re into the whole ski town scene. The location also means you’re close enough to the Yellowstone Club area to feel fancy, but without the pretentious vibe that sometimes comes with that territory. It’s sort of the sweet spot for people who want mountain luxury without having to act like they belong in a whiskey commercial, if that makes sense.

We loved everything about our stay. The hotel is right in the mountain village. We booked a studio room and we thought the price was great. When we arrived, we were surprised with an upgrade into a one- bedroom suite, which was huge and beautiful. The decor is fun all throughout the hotel. The staff were kind, welcoming and helpful. We even got evening turn-down service. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that was so delicious. Everything about our stay brought us joy!

The room was luxurious and well appointed with a small kitchen. The view of the mountain out of the window was beautiful. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. I wasn’t aware our room also came with two lift tickets, but we took all three lifts up and hiked down and it was lovely. The village is so convenient for food, drinks and a little...

The room was luxurious and well appointed with a small kitchen. The view of the mountain out of the window was beautiful. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. I wasn’t aware our room also came with two lift tickets, but we took all three lifts up and hiked down and it was lovely. The village is so convenient for food, drinks and a little shopping. Was the last day of our vacation after coming thru Yellowstone so we felt pampered and were extremely happy with the hotel.

We are travelers and can say with high confidence that this is the best place ever, the most delicious breakfasts, very specious and cozy studios, and greatest mountain vibes. Something very special about this place.

We paid a little more than the going rate for a hotel room but got so much more—and things we are not used to getting. We paid a little more than the going rate for a hotel room but got so much more—and things we are not used to getting. We are definitely not accustomed to having someone carry our luggage and transport us to our room, but we very much appreciated it. The room itself with full kitchen and appliances and the closet space were awesome for a longer stay; sadly we only stayed one night. The bathroom was nice and roomy. We enjoyed the living space to converse with the friends we came with. Having our bed prepared while we were at dinner was something we were shocked about even after being told about it. It was a nice touch. The breakfast was very good and the lifts rides helped us get more pictures. We all noticed that every employee was EXTREMELY polite and very hospitable. We enjoyed it here very much.

We loved everything about this property from the comfort and cleanliness to the staff and location. We wouldn’t leave if we didn’t have to get back to real life.
