Look, I’ll be honest with you – Ocean Place Resort & Spa isn’t going to blow your mind, but there’s something genuinely appealing about this place that keeps drawing me back to Long Branch. Sitting right there on Ocean Boulevard (literally the first address on the street, which is kind of cool), it’s got this old-school Jersey Shore vibe that feels authentic without trying too hard. The building itself is this sprawling beachfront property that’s seen some updates over the years, and while it’s not the fanciest spot you’ll find, there’s a certain unpretentious charm to it. You know what I mean? It’s the kind of place where you can walk through the lobby in flip-flops and nobody bats an eye.
What really sets Ocean Place apart is its location – you’re literally steps from the beach, but you’re also close enough to walk to Pier Village when you want decent restaurants or shopping. The spa is actually pretty solid (I mean, better than I expected for a 4-star place), and they do this thing with heated stone treatments that’s perfect after a long day walking the boardwalk. The rooms vary quite a bit – some have been renovated recently and feel fresh, while others… well, let’s just say they’re showing their age a bit. If you’re booking, definitely ask for an ocean view on a higher floor; the difference is night and day. Parking can be a bit of a headache during summer weekends, but the valet staff knows their stuff and somehow always finds space.
Here’s the thing about this place – it sits in that sweet spot where it’s nice enough for a proper getaway but not so fancy that you feel like you can’t relax. The pool area gets pretty busy during peak season (basically Memorial Day through Labor Day), but if you go early morning or late afternoon, it’s actually quite peaceful. The restaurant is decent, nothing spectacular, but the breakfast buffet is solid and the coffee is strong enough to get you going. Honestly, the best part might be stepping out onto the beach access – no crowds to fight through, no long walks with all your gear. You’re just… there. The 7.2 rating feels about right to me; it’s not perfection, but it delivers on what it promises without any major surprises. If you’re looking for that classic Jersey Shore experience without the chaos of Atlantic City or the pretension of some of the newer boutique places, Ocean Place hits the mark pretty well.

Gorgeous place, amazing location, awesome staff, the gym is a full fledged fantastic gym, on par with an Equinox , new equipment, and a nice array of choices. And the room service and food was extremely delicious

The location is amazing, the staff is amazing as well. So sweet and we’re making sure we were comfortable the whole time.
The room was very comfortable with a nice view. There are some places that need some updates, the pool and recreation area. But nothing that stood in the way for us to enjoy.
