Look, I’ve stayed at a bunch of places along the Atlantic City Boardwalk, and Resorts has this interesting thing going on where it feels both nostalgic and updated at the same time. It’s actually the first casino hotel that opened here back in the day, so there’s this old-school Vegas vibe mixed with renovations that actually make sense. The location is pretty sweet – you’re right on the Boardwalk but far enough from the Steel Pier chaos that you’re not dealing with screaming kids on roller coasters all night.

The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a 4-star place. I mean, they’re not going to blow your mind, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms feel recently redone. What I really appreciate is that most rooms have decent views – either ocean or at least partial boardwalk action. The casino floor can get pretty smoky (it’s Jersey, what do you expect), but the hotel elevator bank is separate enough that your clothes won’t reek by morning. Parking is straightforward too, which sounds basic but you know how much of a nightmare that can be in AC. The garage connects directly to the hotel, so you’re not hauling luggage through wind and salt air.

Here’s what makes Resorts worth considering over some of the flashier spots – it has this relaxed energy that’s perfect if you want the casino experience without feeling like you’re in a theme park. The pool area is actually usable during summer months, not just for show, and the restaurants range from grab-and-go decent to sit-down solid. I wouldn’t call the food amazing, but it’s way better than typical casino fare. The staff seems less harried than at some of the mega-resorts down the strip, probably because it’s not quite as massive and overwhelming. Plus, you can walk to practically everything else on the Boardwalk without dealing with taxi lines or that ridiculous jitney system. The beach access is right there, obviously, and honestly the stretch of sand in front of Resorts is usually less crowded than the areas near Caesars or the Tropicana. One thing though – if you’re looking for that ultra-modern, everything-is-shiny experience, this might feel a bit too laid-back. But if you want a solid base for exploring Atlantic City without paying resort fees that’ll make your accountant cry, Resorts hits that sweet spot pretty well.
