It’s about a 20-minute drive from the main Mysore attractions, but the taxi drivers all know it, so getting there isn’t a headache.
The first thing that hits you is how they’ve really leaned into that traditional Rajasthani palace vibe – I mean, the name literally means “water palace,” and they’ve got these gorgeous water features throughout the property that actually make sense with the theme. The rooms are spacious (way more than you’d expect for the price point), and while the decor can feel a bit over-the-top if you’re not into ornate furnishings, there’s something charming about the carved wooden details and rich fabrics. The AC works well, which honestly matters more than anything else if you’re visiting during Mysore’s hotter months. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – being slightly off the beaten path means you’re not dealing with traffic noise, just the occasional peacock call from the nearby areas.
The spa is where they really shine, though I’ll be straight with you – it’s not going to blow away someone who’s used to high-end wellness resorts. But for unwinding after a day of palace-hopping and wandering around Devaraja Market, it hits the spot. The staff genuinely seems to care, which makes up for some of the rough edges you might notice (the WiFi can be spotty, and room service takes longer than you’d like). The restaurant serves decent South Indian food alongside some North Indian options, though honestly, you’re better off heading into town for dinner if you want the real Mysore experience. The breakfast spread is solid – proper dosas made fresh, which always wins points with me. If you’re planning to visit during Dasara season, book way ahead because this place fills up with families, and the energy gets pretty lively. Overall, it’s one of those places that feels more authentic than polished, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re exploring a city like Mysore.
