You know what hits you first at Astroport Sariska? It’s not the fancy name or the treetop concept – it’s how quiet everything gets once you’re actually up in those elevated pods. I mean, Roopbas isn’t exactly Mumbai, but there’s still the usual village sounds drifting up from Tehla below, and somehow being perched up there just filters it all into this weirdly peaceful background hum.

The whole setup is honestly pretty clever – they’ve managed to stick a proper 5-star experience in the middle of what’s essentially tiger country without making it feel like you’re trapped in some sterile safari lodge. The treehouses (and yeah, they’re basically fancy treehouses, let’s be real) actually work with the landscape instead of fighting it. You’re looking out over the Sariska reserve from your room, which is wild when you think about it – there are literally tigers wandering around down there while you’re sipping your morning chai. The staff mentioned the best wildlife viewing is early morning or just before sunset, and honestly, just sitting on your private deck with binoculars beats any formal safari drive I’ve done.

What I didn’t expect was how well they’ve thought through the practical stuff. The elevated walkways between buildings are solid – no creaky Indiana Jones bridge nonsense that makes you question your life choices. Check-in was smooth, though they do ask you to arrive before dark since navigating the property at night takes some getting used to. The rooms themselves are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped (always a concern with these boutique nature places), and the bathrooms actually have proper water pressure – small victory, but you know how it is with remote locations. Food’s been surprisingly good too, with enough local Rajasthani dishes that you’re not stuck with generic “international cuisine.” The dal and roti here actually tastes like someone’s grandmother made it, not some hotel kitchen interpretation.

I’ll be honest, the 8.1 rating feels about right – it’s genuinely special without being perfect. Sometimes the power flickers during storms (comes with the territory), and if you’re expecting Vegas-level entertainment, you’ll be disappointed. But that’s sort of the point. This place works because it leans into being in the middle of nowhere rather than apologizing for it. The naturalist guides know their stuff – one of them spotted a leopard print on our morning walk that I would’ve walked right past – and they’re happy to just chat about the area instead of giving you some rehearsed spiel. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day because you realize you haven’t checked your phone in hours and you’re oddly okay with that.
