Beach Walk Resort sits right where you’d want it to be in Mandarmani – honestly, the location surprised me because it’s close enough to hear the waves but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant beach crowd chaos. You know what I mean? Sometimes those beachfront places can be a bit much with all the day-trippers hanging around until sunset.

The place has this laid-back vibe that I didn’t expect from the photos online. It’s definitely a 3-star property, and they’re not trying to pretend otherwise, which I actually appreciated. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the AC works well (crucial during those humid Bengal summers), and most importantly, you can actually sleep at night. I was worried about noise from the main Mandarmani Beach Road, but it’s really not bad. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They knew which local spots served the best fish curry and which auto-rickshaw drivers wouldn’t try to overcharge you for the ride to the main beach area.

What really works about this place is how it feels like a proper base for exploring Mandarmani without breaking the bank. The beach is maybe a 5-minute walk – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and you’ll pass a couple of those small chai stalls that serve surprisingly good samosas. The resort itself has this sort of relaxed family atmosphere. I saw lots of Kolkata families there during my stay, which is always a good sign because locals know what they’re doing. The dining area serves decent Bengali and North Indian food, though honestly, you’ll probably want to venture out for dinner at least once to try the seafood places closer to the beach. There’s parking space, which matters if you’re driving down from Kolkata like most people do. One small thing – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but hey, you’re at the beach, maybe that’s not the worst thing? The 7.2 rating feels about right to me. It’s solid, dependable, and the staff clearly care about the place running smoothly, even if everything isn’t perfectly polished.
