We stayed in a “tenthouse” which was unique with great ocean view. It was still getting quite cool at night so the fireplace was definitely a plus. The TuBird restaurant is excellent and staff fantastic.

What could be improved: The wood decking on the patio was rotted through in a couple of spots and could use updating.

Location and views. Fantastic.

What could be improved: The rooms were pretty beaten up. Poor maintenance was evident. Chips. Mismatches. Sloppy painting etc.

Such a lovely place. We ended up booking last minute as a previous booking was completely awful and we couldn't stay there. This place was the same price and had wonderful ocean views. Such a relaxing, beautiful property on the ocean. The staff were lovely and the restaurant at the hotel was sooo delicious and well priced! Thanks so much!!

The location of Rockwater is absolutely stunning. We loved the property and all that it had to offer. The female server working at the restaurant Feb 17 evening was so sweet, kind, and personable. 10/10 service from her. She made our stay that much better! What could be improved: Our room wasn’t very clean - there was a dirty coffee cup and banana peel on the patio outside and then inside there was an entire rotten banana on the floor which had turned liquidy and was pooled under the desk area.

We stayed in one of the signature tent houses for our anniversary. We had a great time overall. The tent house was very unique and facing ocean with amazing views and also surrounded by trees. The way to reach it was a very unique and gorgeous wooden path amongst trees and other houses to reach. The tent house had everything we needed exactly like a like a hotel room plus a private jet tub which you could fill with hot water like a hot tub with an amazing view of the ocean. There is also a gas fireplace which makes the inside cozy. The flooring is also stone tiles with some heating.
The staff at the hotel and restaurant were also super nice and friendly and we had a great time.

What could be improved: We visited in winter and had a storm and don’t recommend to go to tent houses when there is a lot of rain or storm with strong winds as it was a but cold at night with a lot of noises from the wind going around the tent walls. The hotel gave us another heater and extra blanket though which made it better and warm enough.

The restaurant was outstanding. Neil, our waiter, was the best.

The staff was very accommodating in providing us with a room on the bottom level so that we had minimum stairs to negotiate. This meant we were close to the action so we could hear other guests outside. However this was not a problem for us. The beds and room were comfortable, and parking very convenient. This meant we were close to the action so we could hear other guests outside. However this was not a problem for us. The beds and room were comfortable, and parking very convenient.

What could be improved: I was a little apprehensive of several sketchy reviews, esp. of the restaurant. There really aren't other eating options nearby. We ate both dinner and breakfast there and the food was excellent. I can see why some might critique the wait staff, but my impression was that they were young and inexperienced and probably could use some training, but they were polite.

Stunning views from the property. Good restaurant. Good staff. Also offers complimentary kayaks for rental. Secret cove is very swimmable and can even see some starfish. The premium tenthouse is very luxurious and amazing.

What could be improved: You have to walk a long way on boardwalk carrying your luggage to get to the premium tenthouses.
