You know what caught me off guard about Alcove Resort Vagator? It’s actually tucked away in this quiet corner of Small Vagator that most people completely miss. I mean, everyone’s rushing to the main Vagator Beach area, but this place sits near Ozran Beach – which locals still call Little Vagator sometimes. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of… well, relief actually. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, if that makes sense. Sure, it’s a 3-star property, but honestly, the location more than makes up for any fancy amenities you might be missing.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally a 5-minute walk from Ozran Beach, which is hands down one of the most underrated spots in North Goa. While Vagator’s main beach gets packed with the usual crowd, Ozran has these dramatic red cliffs and way fewer beach shacks trying to pull you in every direction. I spent most mornings there with barely anyone around – just the sound of waves and maybe a few locals doing their morning walks. The resort itself? Well, it’s clean, the rooms are actually bigger than you’d expect, and the staff genuinely seems to care about whether you’re having a good time. The check-in was surprisingly smooth too, no drama about early arrival or anything like that.

What really sold me on this place though was how it connects you to the real Vagator vibe without the tourist circus. You’re close enough to walk to Nine Bar when you want that sunset scene (though honestly, it gets pretty intense on weekends), but you can also just chill at the resort when you need to decompress. The area around the hotel has this authentic Goan village feel – there’s a little local market just down the road where you can grab fresh fruit and those amazing Goan bread rolls in the morning. Parking’s not an issue either, which is huge if you’re planning to rent a scooter and explore. The only thing I’d mention is that it can get a bit quiet at night if you’re looking for non-stop action, but for most people – especially if you’re coming to actually relax and not just party – that’s probably exactly what you want. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right and gives you that authentic Goa experience without breaking the bank.
