I mean, you’re still right in the heart of Algarrobo Norte, but there’s this sense of being slightly removed from all the beachfront chaos – and trust me, during Chilean summer that’s a blessing you’ll appreciate around 2 PM when the coast road turns into a parking lot.

The building itself is part of this larger condominium complex (Torre 5, if you’re keeping track), and while that might sound a bit sterile, it actually works in your favor. The security is solid without being overbearing, and there’s this communal pool area that never seems to get too crowded – probably because most people bolt straight for the ocean, which is literally a five-minute walk down the hill. What I really loved was how quiet it gets in the evenings. You can hear the waves if you open the windows, but none of the late-night party noise that plagues some of the beachfront places. The apartment itself has that lived-in feel that makes you think someone actually cares about this place – proper kitchen equipment, decent water pressure, and thank god, blackout curtains that actually work.

Here’s the thing about staying in Algarrobo Norte versus the main town – you’re close enough to walk to all the good seafood spots (there’s this little place serving the best empanadas de mariscos about ten minutes toward the center), but far enough to avoid the weekend crowds that descend like locusts from Santiago. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there a day or two. It’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but everything just… works. The WiFi doesn’t cut out when you need it, the hot water is consistent, and parking – which can be a nightmare along this coast – is actually included and secure. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when you can walk the beach without dodging volleyball games every thirty meters.
