I will say the check-in process requires a bit more coordination than a traditional hotel since you’re dealing with building access and key pickup, but the host was pretty responsive. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s solidly good without being extraordinary, and the 4-star designation feels accurate. You’re not getting hotel-style daily housekeeping or a concierge, but you are getting a genuine neighborhood experience in one of Santiago’s most historically rich areas. If you’re the type who likes exploring on foot and wants to feel less like a tourist bubble, this kind of setup works really well. Just know that Santiago Centro can feel a bit deserted on Sundays, so plan accordingly if you’re hoping for that bustling city energy every day of your stay.
