You’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Vatican — I mean, you can see St. Peter’s dome from some of the upper floor windows — but you’re far enough away from the tourist chaos that you can actually breathe. The metro station at Ottaviano is right around the corner, which makes getting to the Colosseum or Spanish Steps pretty painless. What I loved most was discovering this little family-run trattoria just two blocks away that the concierge recommended — definitely not something you’d find in a guidebook.

When I mentioned I was interested in visiting some of the lesser-known churches, the front desk manager actually drew me a little map with his personal recommendations and optimal walking routes. When my flight got delayed on checkout day, they let me store my luggage and even provided a shower room to freshen up before heading to the airport — no extra charge, just genuine hospitality.

Look, Rome has plenty of luxury hotels, and some are certainly more famous or flashy than Hotel delle Stelle Roma. But if you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Roman while still providing five-star comfort, this is your spot. The neighborhood gives you a real taste of local life — you’ll see families doing their grocery shopping, kids playing football in the small piazzas, and elderly men playing cards at the corner café. It’s the Rome that locals actually live in, not just the postcard version. After staying here, I can’t imagine choosing one of those massive chain hotels near the major attractions — this felt like discovering a secret that I’m almost reluctant to share.
