Grandeur De Sanchi- Luxury Beach Resort & Spa

Honestly, when I first pulled up to Grandeur De Sanchi on Holiday Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name sounds a bit grand for Calangute, you know? But walking through those doors, it actually lives up to the whole luxury resort thing they’re going for. The lobby has this warm, earthy feel with local Goan touches that don’t feel forced, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests rather than just going through the motions.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm right in Gaurawaddo – I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the occasional motorcycle puttering down the street (this is Goa, after all), but the way they’ve designed the property, especially around the pool area and spa, you feel properly removed from the Calangute chaos. The beach access is the real winner here though. While everyone else is fighting for space on the main Calangute stretch, you can actually find a decent spot to spread out without dodging beach vendors every five minutes. The sand quality is pretty good too – not the powdery stuff you’ll find down south, but clean and well-maintained.

The rooms are where this place really shines, actually. Mine had this massive balcony overlooking the water, and the air conditioning worked like a dream (crucial during those humid April afternoons). The bathroom setup is particularly well thought out – separate shower area, good water pressure, and they stock it with products that don’t smell like generic hotel soap. Food-wise, their restaurant does a solid job with both local Goan dishes and international options, though I’d still recommend venturing out to some of the family-run places nearby for the really authentic stuff. The spa is genuinely relaxing too – I got an Ayurvedic massage that left me feeling like I’d been properly reset. Just book early because they get busy, especially during peak season from December through February. One thing to note: parking can get a bit tight during busy periods, but the staff will sort you out if you ask. Overall, it’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually thought about what travelers need, rather than just checking boxes on a luxury hotel list.
