Highline Vail – a DoubleTree by Hilton
Highline Vail – a DoubleTree by Hilton Overview
First Impressions
You know what struck me first about Highline Vail – a DoubleTree by Hilton? It’s that perfect sweet spot where mountain authenticity meets genuine comfort without trying too hard. This four-star property sits right on North Frontage Road West, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, couples are rating it 9.2 for good reason. The moment you walk in, there’s this warm cookie smell (classic DoubleTree move) mixed with that crisp mountain air, and you just know you’re in for something special.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Vail — location is everything, and Highline nails it. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos to actually relax. The private parking on site is honestly a godsend because anyone who’s tried to find a spot in Vail during ski season knows the struggle. What I love is how easy it is to get to the slopes from here — you’re not dealing with those crazy shuttle schedules or hiking your gear half a mile through snow.
The Room Experience
The room itself feels like someone actually thought about what tired skiers need. Sure, it’s not over-the-top fancy, but everything works perfectly — the heating kicks in fast (crucial after a day on the mountain), the beds are properly comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your gear without tripping over everything. I particularly appreciated the mountain views from most rooms — it’s that kind of scenery that makes you pause your morning coffee routine just to stare outside for a minute.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The food here actually surprised me — and I mean that in the best way. The restaurant serves meals that recent guests keep raving about, which honestly isn’t always the case with hotel dining. Breakfast is grab-and-go style, which works perfectly when you’re trying to catch first tracks or head out for an early hike. There’s something refreshing about a place that understands mountain schedules and doesn’t force you into rigid dining times.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it handles the little things that matter. The fitness center is there when you need it, fishing access is genuinely good if you’re into that, and the skiing situation — well, you’re in Vail, so that speaks for itself. But honestly, it’s the overall vibe that keeps people coming back. This isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in town; it’s just really, really good at being exactly what you need after a day in the Colorado mountains. The 8.2 rating feels spot-on — high enough to trust, realistic enough to believe. Guests consistently praise the attentive service and welcoming atmosphere throughout their stays.

The shuttle sevices to and from the village everyday, the cleanliness, the staff as well as the shuttle drivers were very nice. Having the restaurant there was a plus, because they offered gluten free options!

This was a modernized Hilton, refreshing, very clean modern lines. It was very relaxing. It was away from downtown Vail which would have been nice to stay as there was a free Bluegrass Festival on. At the same time it was lovely to come back to the serenity of this hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
