It’s right there in Mihama – you know, the touristy strip with all the shops and restaurants – but somehow it doesn’t feel overwhelming or too crowded.

What actually impressed me was how they positioned the building. You’re literally steps from Sunset Beach (which, okay, isn’t the most pristine beach on the island, but the sunsets are legitimately spectacular), and you can walk to American Village in about three minutes. I mean, that’s pretty convenient when you want decent food at 10 PM or need to grab something from the convenience stores. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re Hilton standard, which means clean and comfortable but not exactly Instagram-worthy. The balcony views though – if you get one facing the water – are worth the upgrade. You can actually see Hamby Airfield from some rooms, which sounds annoying but the plane activity is pretty minimal.

Here’s what I really appreciated: the staff genuinely knows the area. When I asked about bus routes to Naha (because rental cars aren’t always necessary here), the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a pamphlet – he walked me through the actual schedule and mentioned which stops are easier for getting back with shopping bags. Small thing, but it matters. The pool area gets busy during Golden Week and summer holidays, obviously, but if you’re there in shoulder season, it’s actually quite peaceful. There’s this weird artificial waterfall feature that sounds cheesy but somehow works with the whole tropical vibe they’re going for. Parking is free, which – trust me – is not a given in this part of Chatan. The breakfast buffet leans heavily into both Western and Japanese options, though honestly, you’re better off walking five minutes to one of the local spots for a more authentic Okinawan breakfast.

One thing to know: the hotel sits right between the main road and the beach, so you get some traffic noise during the day, but it dies down pretty significantly after evening rush hour. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but everything works as it should, the location is genuinely useful for exploring both the American Village scene and getting to other parts of the island, and the staff doesn’t treat you like just another tourist passing through. If you’re planning to spend most of your time out exploring (which you should be in Okinawa), this place serves as a solid home base without any major headaches.
