Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak
Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak Overview
First Impressions
The Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak sits in Camelback East like it belongs there — which, honestly, is harder to pull off than you’d think in Phoenix. This four-star property doesn’t try to compete with the flashier resorts down in Scottsdale, and that’s actually what makes it work. You know what struck me first? The way they’ve positioned everything to take advantage of those desert mountain views without making you feel like you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere. The resort’s thoughtful design philosophy extends throughout the property, creating spaces that feel both welcoming and distinctly Arizonan.
Location & Neighborhood
Camelback East is one of those Phoenix neighborhoods that locals appreciate but tourists often overlook — which means you get the benefits without the crowds. The resort’s location on 16th Street puts you close enough to central Phoenix that you’re not isolated, but far enough out that you actually get some peace. There’s parking right on site (and it’s free, which anyone who’s dealt with downtown Phoenix hotels will appreciate), plus you’re within a couple miles of some really solid golf courses if that’s your thing. The neighborhood offers an ideal balance of accessibility and tranquility.
The Rooms and Amenities
My room had that desert contemporary feel that Arizona properties do well when they’re not trying too hard — clean lines, warm colors, and windows that actually frame the landscape instead of fighting it. The spa here isn’t massive, but it’s thoughtfully designed and uses treatments that make sense for the climate. I mean, after a day in the desert heat, you want something that actually helps rather than just checking boxes. The fitness center is well-equipped enough that you won’t feel like you’re missing your usual routine. Guest accommodations throughout the property maintain this same attention to detail and comfort.
Dining and Social Spaces
The restaurant focuses on Southwestern cuisine without going overboard on the theme — you’ll find dishes that actually taste like something rather than just looking Instagram-ready. What I appreciated was how they handle the indoor-outdoor dining situation; in Phoenix, that balance between enjoying the climate and escaping the heat is crucial, and they’ve figured it out. The bar area becomes a genuine gathering spot in the evenings, especially when the temperature drops and people want to be outside. These spaces encourage both social connection and personal relaxation.
Why Guests Love It
Couples seem to really connect with this place — there’s something about the setting that feels romantic without being overly orchestrated. The resort strikes this balance between offering activities (that golf course access is legit) and giving you space to just exist without constant programming. It’s the kind of place where you can have an active day if you want it, or spend hours by the pool reading without anyone bothering you. The staff understands that sometimes the best service is knowing when to step back and let people enjoy themselves. This philosophy makes the resort memorable for all the right reasons.

We stayed here for the water park. It didn't disappoint. It was fabulous! It closed early one day because they weren't busy enough and not enough staff. So, we were bummed we missed out a bit.
We loved the on-site restaurants, spa and numerous walks. You don't need to leave the property if you don't want to. It's all here
