Hotel Montfort Nicolet

A nice comfortable bed and a spotless modern bathroom.

What could be improved: We arrived on Sunday and the restaurant was closed. Extremly unconvinient in such a small town. We were not impressed by swimming pool and it turned out that to use sauna there was an additional charge ($55 per person).

Beautiful hotel, great room, nice garden, well placed. Great stay !

What could be improved: Bad first impression with service / under qualified staff at the Réception.
Had booked a room with balcony and garden view. But they first place me, 1st floor with a terrace, but terrasse 3’ from cars / parking view ?
Went back to reception, but they said no, that it was booked without balcony and no garden view. They required for me to go get my booking papers. Which I did. Went back to the room, got my papers.
But once back at the reception, they said it was not written on the booking, they blamed Booking.com for wrong booking, which meant they couldn’t do anything for me.
I left the reception sad and perplexed, for I was certain of my booking.
Walking back to the room, I decided to read all the paper work, and there it was, written black on white, balcony and garden view !
So I went back for the third time to the front desk, and only after making the staff read clearly what was written, did they finally agreed to change the room, according to my booking. Having better experienced staff, would avoid negative impressions, especially first impressions.
On all other sides, this hotel is awesome, hence why it deserves better / more experienced and client driven, welcoming staff.

quiet and really clean place with a beautiful small spa. Friendly staff, good food and comfortable beds. The A/C has a central override at reception, and one must ask for using it. This probably because of environmental management of the premise.

What could be improved: There is no level access to the elevator. You have to master the main entrance 8 or so steps. The gym is recognized only by the sign on the door.

The rooms were lovely and comfortable with mile high ceilings and views of the courtyard fountain. The rooms were toasty so we dropped the heat as much as we could and opened a window (but we like temperatures in the low 60's so if you're a normal human, I'm sure they are quite comfortable). The breakfast was a delicious buffet complete with some of the tastiest pastries that we've ever had at a hotel breakfast (the apple squares with walnuts are amazing). We had asked for rooms close together, and while we weren't next to each other on the same floor, we weren't very far apart either. Staff speaks French and varying levels of English (everyone's English was better than my French et je peux parler un peu) and is super accommodating. The restaurant closes at 10 pm. We rolled in at 9 pm with 11 of us (a nightmare for any kitchen at the end of the night) and they got us seated and fed like the professionals they are and they did it while being a little short staffed. Very impressed with this place and 10 of 10 would stay again.

What could be improved: The only think I didn't like was that our trip was so short and we didn't get a change to make use of the spa facilities the hotel offers. The pool and the rooftop hot tub sounded lovely, but we just ran out of time. More of an FYI than a "didn't like" - Parking is a bit tight and we had to drive around the hotel a bit to find a spot and then use all of our parking skills to get in and out. If you're going with a group, carpooling will be helpful.

The staff was friendly and eager to help. I have serious environmental allergies, so they gave me a room with a hard floor. It was large, very clean, and completely suitable for my condition. I was happily surprised. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The mini-fridge was inside a cabinet, and the A/C was very quiet so I slept like a baby. Everything was newly renovated, clean, and in good order. The rooftop terrace is very nice, and the spa next door is amazing. I loved the little cafe where I was able to work in a pleasant atmosphere before my check-in and after my check-out. The wifi was very fast both in the hotel and in the cafe. I'm looking forward to coming back and spending more time there.

What could be improved: The restaurant menu did not match my food preferences, so I brought my own food.
