HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what struck me first about Innisbrook? It’s actually huge – like, way bigger than you’d expect when you’re driving up US-19 in Palm Harbor. I mean, most people think of this stretch as just strip malls and traffic lights, but then you turn into this resort and suddenly you’re in 900 acres of rolling hills and oak trees. It honestly feels more like you’ve driven into some fancy North Carolina mountain retreat than a Florida golf destination.
The thing about Innisbrook is that it’s really a golfer’s paradise that happens to have decent accommodations attached. Those four championship courses aren’t just marketing fluff – the Copperhead course actually hosts PGA Tour events, so you’ll see some serious players practicing if you visit in March. But here’s what I appreciated even as someone who barely knows a driver from a putter: the whole place has this relaxed, sporty vibe that doesn’t feel stuffy. The suites are spread out in these low-rise buildings tucked between the fairways, which means it’s quiet (well, except for the occasional “fore!” in the distance), but you’ll definitely want a car or be prepared to wait for the shuttle to get around. Check-in was smooth enough, though the lobby feels a bit dated – sort of stuck in that 1990s resort aesthetic with lots of dark wood and golf memorabilia.
What really works here is the location, honestly. You’re about 20 minutes from Clearwater Beach when you want that proper Gulf Coast experience, but far enough inland that you’re not paying beachfront prices or dealing with spring break chaos. The pools are actually pretty nice – there’s a lazy river that kids go crazy for, and the main pool area gets good sun most of the day. I’ll be real though, some of the room furnishings could use updating, and the Wi-Fi can be spotty in certain buildings. The restaurants on-site are fine but nothing spectacular – you might want to venture out to downtown Safety Harbor (about 10 minutes away) for better dinner options. That said, if you’re here to golf, relax by the pool, and maybe take day trips to Tampa or the beaches, Innisbrook delivers exactly what it promises. Just don’t expect cutting-edge luxury – think comfortable, well-maintained resort that knows its strengths and sticks to them.

I liked that the property had a golf course and because of the 4th of July weekend it had a 4th of July activities like a live band , ball and fireworks. Also, the staff was extremely exceptional in responding to any request in a quick and timely manner with a kind demeanor at all times.
