Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Kobe Bay Sheraton, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s this sort of towering concrete structure in Higashinada that looks pretty standard from the street, but once you actually get inside? Completely different story. The lobby has this unexpectedly warm feel with these massive windows that frame Osaka Bay perfectly, and you know what really got me? The staff actually remembered my name after the first day. Not just the front desk people – I’m talking about the housekeeping team who’d nod and say “good morning” in the hallways.
The location is honestly brilliant if you know Kobe at all. You’re right in Koyocho-naka, which means you can walk to the beach in about three minutes (and I actually timed this because I’m weird like that), but you’re also close enough to catch the train into downtown Kobe without dealing with the tourist crowds around Sannomiya. The rooms on the bay side – and definitely request one if you can – have these floor-to-ceiling windows where you can watch the cargo ships drift by in the evening. There’s something almost meditative about it. My room had this slightly dated but comfortable setup with a desk that was actually big enough to spread out work stuff, and the bathroom had one of those deep Japanese soaking tubs that I probably used way too much. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which matters more than people admit, and the air conditioning was whisper-quiet – crucial during Kobe’s sticky summers.
What really sets this place apart though is how it feels like a proper neighborhood hotel rather than some generic chain experience. The concierge team knows the local scene incredibly well – they steered me toward this tiny yakitori place about ten minutes away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and they arranged a car service to the sake breweries in Nada that was way better than trying to navigate public transport with luggage. The breakfast buffet is actually pretty impressive with both Western and Japanese options (the miso soup was consistently good, which is harder to find than you’d think), and they have this outdoor terrace area that most people seem to miss where you can drink coffee and watch the morning ferry traffic. Parking was straightforward and included, which saved me the headache of street parking in that area. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with cutting-edge design or anything, but the 8.3 rating makes total sense – it’s just a really solid, well-run hotel where everything works the way it should, the staff genuinely cares, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual character rather than a cookie-cutter business hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel many times on business trips 25 years ago. I was expecting the building and rooms to feel old and worn but I was pleasantly surprised to find a vibrant, busy and updated property giving great service and superb value. They...
Love the location and excellent facilities. Highly recommended
What could be improved: Bathroom table top kinda small, it will be better if there's some storage for guests
It was clean and in a great location. The staff members were very friendly and most of them could speak English
Wonderful accommodation. We booked a room that offers you Sheraton Club facilities.. It gives you acces to the club and a great view on kobe and free drinks and snacks. Although the hotel is not in the centre of the city, public transport brings you...
The property was lovely
What could be improved: I arrived at 10pm and unfortunately every restaurant and bar both in and around the hotel was closed
The Spa was great - a really good experience.
What could be improved: The gym entrance was not included in the price - I was shocked to be asked to pay to access the gym. This was not clear in the description of the property.
The room was big and bed was comfortable. The onsen was so relaxing. The access to club lounge was great. Afternoon drinks with snacks overlooking central Kobe in club lounge. What could be improved: The breakfast choices could be better. Too rowdy...
The hotel is located on a private quiet location. Room size is good and staff is attentive & professional. Hotel breakfast is quite good spread and free parking facilities for guests makes it easier for us to drive out & explore Kobe. What could be...
What could be improved: We stayed there for 7nights. On weekdays it was fine but on weekend, the buffet breakfast restaurant was super busy, they made us waiting outside for 40mins with a starving child.
