I mean, most people think of this stretch of coast as pretty low-key compared to Viña del Mar, but this place sits right on the lagoon where the really nice boats dock – not the flashy tourist stuff, but the kind locals with money actually use.

The apartment itself is honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed at in Santiago. Everything’s clean and modern, but what really got me was stepping out onto that balcony and realizing you’re basically floating over the water. The marina’s got this weird peaceful vibe in the mornings when the fog rolls in from the Pacific – you can hear the rigging clinking softly and maybe some pelicans doing their thing. By afternoon though, it livens up with families walking the docks and people prepping their boats. The building’s pretty quiet overall (solid construction, I guess), which is perfect because you know how thin walls can be in these coastal developments.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to figure out – you’re technically in Algarrobo but you feel removed from all the beach town chaos. The main drag with all the restaurants and that somewhat tacky beachfront scene is maybe a ten-minute walk, but honestly, I found myself just hanging around the marina area most evenings. There’s this little pathway that connects to the actual Laguna Bahía, and if you time it right during low tide, you can walk pretty far out. Parking’s never an issue here either, which… well, if you’ve tried to park anywhere near the beach in January, you’ll appreciate that. The whole Edificio Marina setup feels more like a residential building where you just happen to be staying – none of that hotel lobby hustle or tour groups clogging up elevators. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, just key pickup and you’re set.

What really sells it for me is how it works for different kinds of trips. If you want to hit Algarrobo’s beaches and restaurants, you’re close enough. But if you’re more interested in just decompressing somewhere that feels a bit special – maybe doing some early morning kayaking on the lagoon or just reading with that water view – this place actually delivers on that. The apartment’s got everything you need to cook if you want to grab fresh fish from the market in town, but you’re not stuck cooking every meal like some vacation rentals make you feel. I’d definitely come back, probably in shoulder season when the rates drop and you get the place mostly to yourself.
