You know what surprised me most about this place? It’s actually on Albert Street – which, if you know Auckland at all, means you’re literally in the thick of everything downtown, but somehow this apartment manages to feel like a proper retreat. I mean, you step inside and suddenly all that street noise just… disappears. The harbour view they promise isn’t some tiny sliver either – we’re talking proper floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Waitemata Harbour like it’s a giant postcard.

The apartment itself feels way more spacious than most Auckland places in this price range. Honestly, I’ve stayed in some cramped boxes around here that call themselves “luxury,” but this one actually delivers on that promise. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to cook (and you might, considering downtown restaurant prices), plus there’s this little breakfast nook where you can watch the ferries chugging back and forth to Devonport while you have your coffee. The bedroom’s at the back, so even though you’re on Albert Street, you’re not dealing with delivery trucks at 6am – which, trust me, is a blessing in this part of town.

What really sold me though was all the little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. Good WiFi (actually good, not just “we have WiFi”), proper blackout curtains, and – this might sound weird but it matters – decent water pressure in the shower. The building’s got secure parking too, which is basically gold in downtown Auckland. You’re a two-minute walk from Britomart if you’re catching trains anywhere, and Fort Street’s right there with all those little cafes and shops that tourists usually miss. I grabbed some amazing dumplings from a tiny place just around the corner that I never would’ve found if I’d stayed out in some hotel chain by the airport. Sure, weekend nights can get a bit lively since you’re so central, but honestly? That’s part of the charm. You fall asleep listening to the city instead of highway traffic, and in the morning you can walk to the ferry terminal with a proper coffee in hand, watching Auckland wake up around the harbour.
