The location is pretty sweet – you’re right there on Parkway, which means you can stumble back from dinner at Dolly Parton’s Stampede or catch the trolley to downtown without dealing with the nightmare that is trying to park near the SkyBridge during peak season. I mean, let’s be real, Gatlinburg traffic is its own special kind of hell, but being centrally located like this actually matters. The rooms have this relaxed coastal thing going on that somehow works even though you’re surrounded by mountains – think weathered wood and blues and greens that don’t scream “beach house” but definitely whisper it. The beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are bigger than what you’d expect for the price point.

What really sold me though was the pool area. It’s got this lazy river situation that’s perfect for floating with a drink, and the whole deck setup feels like you’re at a beach resort that accidentally ended up in Tennessee. The bar service is solid – they know how to make a proper margarita, which you’d hope for given the name – and the staff actually seems to enjoy working there, which is rarer than it should be. There’s usually a decent crowd but it never felt overwhelming, even when I was there during the busy fall foliage season. Pro tip: the fire pits in the evening are where it’s at, especially if you can snag one of the Adirondack chairs before the families with kids claim them all. Parking is included and it’s covered, which is clutch when those afternoon mountain storms roll through. Honestly, for what you get versus what you pay, especially considering you’re walking distance to all the main Gatlinburg chaos but tucked back enough to actually get some sleep at night, it’s a pretty solid choice. The whole place just feels like they understood the assignment – be a fun, relaxing base camp for exploring the Smokies without breaking the bank or making you feel like you’re staying in a generic chain hotel.
