The spa side of things is solid too, though it gets pretty busy during Derby season and when there are big conferences in town. Speaking of which, this place does attract a lot of business travelers, so the lobby can feel a bit corporate during the week. But honestly? The staff actually knows what they’re doing, and check-in is usually smooth even when it’s crowded. Parking is free, which is refreshing after dealing with downtown hotels, and there’s plenty of it scattered around the property.
What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed the whole resort feel without going overboard. The rooms are comfortable – not fancy, but you’ll sleep well and the bathrooms are updated. The pool area gets sun most of the day, and it’s actually quiet in the mornings before the families wake up. If you’re here in summer, that’s your window. The restaurants on-site are decent (the Sunday brunch draws locals, which is always a good sign), but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore Lexington’s food scene. Just hop back on Newtown Pike and you’re at Whole Foods or a dozen other spots in no time. The location really works – close enough to feel connected but far enough out that you’re not dealing with downtown noise or college traffic. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for the horses, the bourbon trail, or just need a solid base for exploring the Bluegrass region.
