They’ll point you toward the best snorkeling spots that aren’t crawling with day-trippers, and their restaurant serves this incredible local fish curry that I’m still thinking about months later.

Here’s the thing though – it’s definitely a 5-star property with 5-star prices, and while the 8.1 rating is pretty solid, you can tell where they cut some corners. The wifi can be spotty (though honestly, that might be a blessing), and during peak season the beach can get surprisingly busy with guests from other properties wandering over. But the morning hours? Pure magic. I’d wake up around 6:30 and have this incredible stretch of coastline basically to myself, with just the sound of waves and maybe one or two locals heading out for their morning walk. The resort’s spa is tucked back in the trees and feels genuinely peaceful – not just Instagram-peaceful, you know? And here’s a practical tip: if you’re planning to explore other beaches, the resort can arrange transport, but honestly the local auto-rickshaw drivers who hang out near the main road are just as reliable and way cheaper. Munjoh works best if you’re looking for that balance between luxury and actually experiencing Havelock as it really is, rather than being completely insulated from the island. It’s polished enough to feel special, but grounded enough that you’re not stuck in some artificial bubble.
