The staff here actually knows your name by day two (something that surprised me at a place this size), and they’ll arrange spice plantation walks that are way more interesting than the touristy ones you’ll find closer to Thekkady. The pool area gets gorgeous afternoon light, though it can get pretty quiet during weekdays — which might be exactly what you’re looking for, or might feel a bit too isolated depending on your vibe.
Here’s the thing about this place — it’s got that 5-star polish, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or overly formal. The restaurant serves this fantastic Kerala fish curry that’s actually spiced properly (not dumbed down for tourists), and they source a lot of ingredients from the surrounding farms. Parking’s never an issue since you’re basically in the middle of a plantation, and the rooms stay surprisingly cool even during the warmer months because of all the tree cover. I’d say the 7.9 rating feels about right — it’s genuinely lovely and well-run, but maybe not quite the jaw-dropping experience you’d expect from some 5-star places. The location means you’re trading easy access to Thekkady’s boat rides and wildlife sanctuary for this more secluded, immersive spice country experience. If you’re the type who wants to actually unwind and maybe learn something about how cardamom grows, this is your spot. Just don’t expect to stumble back from late-night drinks in town.

Fantastic views from balcony with loads of bird life. Fantastic staff. Best TikTok driver ever shuttled us around and helped out where needed and picked us up. Lovely cool pool. Good food.

Staff and the food were excellent. Right from the Reception staff, Chef Sundar, boys at the restaurant, the chauffer Chandrettan who drove us around to the Gardner lady, everyone made us feel welcome. The location, the weather and the exceptional bird songs that woke us up every day morning were to die for.
