Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia

Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia Overview

First Impressions

The Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia hits you with this unexpected Andalusian vibe the moment you pull up — honestly, it’s like someone dropped a piece of southern Spain right into the Sonoran Desert. The white-washed walls and terra cotta details feel authentic, not theme-park fake, which I really appreciated. You know what struck me most? How the architecture actually works with the desert landscape instead of fighting it. The four-star property manages to feel both grand and intimate, which isn’t easy to pull off.

Location & Desert Setting

Perched up on Lincoln Drive in Scottsdale, you’re getting some serious mountain views — Camelback Mountain dominates the horizon in the most dramatic way. The location is actually perfect for couples (guests rate it 9.6 for romantic trips, and I can see why). You’re close enough to Old Town Scottsdale’s galleries and restaurants, but far enough up the hillside that you feel like you’ve escaped the crowds. The parking situation is refreshingly stress-free with private spots on-site, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to unwind.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of Southwestern warmth and Spanish elegance — rich fabrics, hand-painted tiles, and these gorgeous wrought-iron details that felt genuinely crafted. But here’s what really matters: the beds are phenomenal. I mean, guests consistently rave about the comfort level, and after sleeping like a rock for three nights, I get it. The views from most rooms stretch across the valley, and watching the sunset paint those mountains is honestly worth the stay alone. The natural light throughout the day creates an inviting atmosphere.

Spa & Wellness

The spa here draws from both Moroccan and Spanish traditions — they’ve got this incredible hammam experience that feels transportive. I spent way too much time in the hot tub area, which overlooks the desert and somehow makes you forget you’re in Arizona suburbia. The fitness center is well-equipped without being intimidating, and the whole wellness approach feels integrated into the property rather than tacked on as an afterthought. Guests consistently praise the rejuvenating treatments available.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back is how this place nails the details that actually matter. The restaurant serves solid Southwestern cuisine with Spanish influences — their breakfast spreads include everything from vegetarian options to grab-and-go items if you’re heading out early for hiking. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward the best trails or galleries without the usual tourist trap recommendations. It’s the kind of place where you can completely disconnect or use it as a sophisticated base for exploring Scottsdale’s art scene and desert adventures. The overall experience creates lasting memories for every visitor.

Experience exceptional luxury healing hotels that provide world-class accommodations alongside cutting-edge wellness facilities, creating sanctuaries where guests can focus on their health and well-being.

I stayed for my birthday and had a spa treatment. I was able to get into my room a little early and they took care of my bags and valet while I ran over to make my spa appointment. They were very accommodating and understanding. They left a small cake for me to enjoy which was thoughtful, put me in the building next to all of the amenities with a pool view. I loved it!

Lovely resort and great room. A gorgeous setting facing Mummy Mtn. The service and hospitality was impeccable, including the housekeeping mgr’s willingness to makeup our room using no bleach products. Our sheets, pillowcases and linens (towels, etc) were clean of any bleach smell. From the valet attendants (who stand under an umbrella in the summer heat, 100+ degrees) who are friendly and efficient to all other employees we interacted with during our stay, everyone offered a pleasant greeting. Not sure we can afford the high season nightly rates, however, we’d love to make this Omni our “home-away-from home” every visit to Scottsdale.

To start, I found this resort on Booking because of a deal that was active. My sister wanted to spend part of our trip at a spa resort and this one seemed to have great ratings.
Sidenote: We never actually made it to the spa.

We arrived to the area, with no idea what Scottsdale is. Apparently, it’s where the rich of Arizona stay! We pull up to valet (which you don’t have to have) and we’re pampered from that moment on. We were checking a bit early and they accommodated us by upgrading our room, for free (our original room wasn’t ready yet). The property is about 6 acres. We were taking through the property on a golf cart, which was a blessing with the 100 degree temperature. This doesn’t include the free gifts were we given, because of the occasion.

Without making this too long, the staff, food, pool (which was never “busy”) and ambience is out of this world. After a bit of research, this seems to be one of the best Omni hotel/resorts in the states. Food/restaurants on campus are decently priced (about $16 for fish tacos & $7 for a tall iced latte). But if you want to focus your money elsewhere, all the food chains and local stores are nearby.
