You know what caught me off guard about Parque Pinares? It’s actually perched up on the eighth floor of this tower building along the Villarrica road, which sounds kind of weird until you realize that means you get these ridiculous panoramic views of the lake and volcano that most ground-level places just can’t touch. I mean, honestly, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Pucón over the years, and this spot really nails that sweet spot between being close enough to walk into town (maybe 15 minutes to the main strip) but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the summer crowds stumbling back from Mama’s at 2 AM.

The whole setup feels more like staying in a really well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room – there’s actually proper kitchen space if you want to cook (and you should, because the Jumbo supermarket isn’t far and Chilean produce is incredible). The building itself is pretty modern, which I appreciate because it means things like reliable hot water and decent WiFi, though you’ll still want to test the internet situation if you’re trying to work remotely. What really sold me was stepping out onto the balcony that first evening… I mean, you can see Volcán Villarrica doing its thing, and if you’re lucky enough to be there during one of its more active phases, the glow at night is just unreal. The lake view changes throughout the day too – morning mist, afternoon sparkle, those incredible sunsets that make you understand why this area draws people from Santiago every weekend.

Staff-wise, they really know their stuff about the area, which matters more in Pucón than you might think. Like, they’ll tell you which thermal springs are worth the drive (Termas Geométricas, definitely) and when to hit the hiking trails before they get packed. The whole vibe is pretty relaxed – this isn’t some stuffy resort situation where you feel like you need to dress up for breakfast. Parking’s straightforward, which is honestly a relief if you’ve ever tried to navigate Pucón’s tiny streets during high season. The only thing I’d mention is that being up on the eighth floor means you’re definitely dependent on the elevator, but it’s been reliable in my experience. Look, with a 9.4 rating, you’re obviously getting something special here, and after spending time in this place, I get why people keep coming back. It’s that rare spot where the location, the views, and the actual comfort level all line up just right.
