HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Key West over the years, and Pier House honestly nails that sweet spot between being right in the thick of everything and still feeling like an actual retreat. The location is kind of ridiculous when you think about it – literally at the end of Duval Street where it hits the water, so you’re steps from all the madness but facing out toward the Gulf instead of the tourist chaos.
The first thing that hits you is how they’ve managed to keep this old Florida Keys vibe intact while still being, well, nice. I mean, it’s not trying to be some ultra-modern resort – the buildings have this weathered tropical look that actually feels authentic instead of Disney-fied. The spa is legitimately good (I’m usually skeptical of hotel spas, but this one gets it right), and honestly, you’ll probably need it after a night or two on Duval. What really won me over though was the waterfront situation – they’ve got this pier that stretches out into the harbor, and watching sunset from there beats fighting the crowds at Mallory Square any day. Plus, you can actually hear yourself think.
Here’s the thing about staying here – yeah, you’re paying for that location, but it’s worth it if you want to experience Key West without feeling like you’re camping in a frat house. The rooms facing the water are obviously the move if you can swing it, though even the courtyard ones are pretty solid. Parking is handled (thank god, because street parking down here is a nightmare), and the staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward the good local spots instead of just the tourist traps. Fair warning though – if you’re here during Fantasy Fest or New Year’s, all bets are off noise-wise, but that’s true anywhere in Old Town. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right and the location really is hard to beat.

Excellent location. Extremely close to Duval Street and Mallory Square. Ample parking available. Comfortable room.

Location was the best. We had an ocean front room with a balcony and loved watching all the boats go by so close to our room. The rooms were a nice size but the hotel is a bit dated. Parking is expensive at the hotel so be prepared. We walked the all time we were there. The beach was small but it was a nice addition to have.

The hotel is in a great location at the end of Duval Street. Ample parking but they do charge a lot for it! The pool/beach was pretty crowded but we did get sun beds each afternoon. Coffee machine was great in the room and Molton Brown bathroom products in plenty supply.
