Pullman Tokyo Tamachi Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Tokyo, and the Pullman Tamachi honestly surprised me in the best way. First thing you notice when you walk in? The lobby doesn’t try too hard to scream “luxury” at you – it’s got this understated elegance that feels refreshingly authentic. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is something you don’t always get even at five-star places.
What really sold me on this spot is the location, and I mean the real location benefits, not just “convenient access to transportation.” You’re right in Tamachi, which puts you walking distance from some incredible local spots most tourists never find. There’s this fantastic yakitori place about three blocks away on Daiichi Keihin Road that the concierge quietly recommended – you know, the kind of recommendation that makes you feel like you’re getting insider knowledge. The JR Tamachi station is literally a two-minute walk, but here’s what matters more: you can catch the Yamanote Line without dealing with the absolute chaos of Shinjuku or Shibuya stations. During rush hour, that’s worth its weight in gold.
The rooms themselves… well, they’re spacious by Tokyo standards, which actually means something coming from someone who’s been squeezed into shoebox-sized accommodations across the city. The beds are properly comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and the blackout curtains actually work (trust me, when you’re dealing with jet lag, this matters). I loved the view toward Tokyo Bay from my room on the 18th floor, especially in the evening when the lights start coming on. One small thing that impressed me: the bathroom has a proper bathtub, not just a tiny unit bath situation. After walking 20,000 steps around the city, that’s pure luxury. The shower pressure is excellent too, which honestly can be hit or miss even in nice Tokyo hotels.
Service-wise, it’s that perfect sweet spot where they’re attentive without being overwhelming. The breakfast buffet runs until 10:30 AM – later than a lot of places – and while it’s not cheap, the quality is solid with both Japanese and Western options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I actually found myself looking forward to the miso soup each morning, which sounds simple but was perfectly executed every single day.
The only minor complaint I’d have is that the fitness center gets pretty busy around 7 PM when all the business travelers finish their meetings, but honestly, that’s more of a timing thing than a real problem. If you go earlier or later, you’ll have it mostly to yourself. The pool area is nice too, though it’s more for relaxation than serious swimming.
Bottom line – this place gets the fundamentals right without any pretentious nonsense. It’s the kind of hotel where you can actually relax and feel like you’re experiencing Tokyo from a comfortable, well-positioned base. At an 8.5 rating, it’s earned every point of that score through solid execution rather than flashy gimmicks.
Experience exceptional luxury healing hotels that provide world-class accommodations alongside cutting-edge wellness facilities, creating sanctuaries where guests can focus on their health and well-being.

Great location near Tamachi Station. Friendly staff.
I loved the environment and the area. It is close to many resturant across the street so there are many choices and near the train.
The bed is so comfortable. The location is amazing, located between 2 different lines of trains. So convenient. Very close to Ginza by train and by uber very close to Roppongi, and not far away from most big stations by train. Amazing! There’s a...
We loved the helpfulness of the staff, no issue was too big - they would do anything to make it a comfortable stay. What could be improved: We had an issue at check-in where a double charge was processed. I am still waiting for that to be refunded....
Beautiful rooms, great staff, very helpful!
What could be improved: Location & staff
Spacious room; impeccable service; excellent location next to two major station lines; plus surrounded by large walkable areas with cafes and restaurants; good noise insulation; high shower water pressure; varied breakfast and yummy food. What could...
Great hotel. Big room. Very clean. Carl from concierge was amazing and very helpful.
What could be improved: The location was a little out of the way for us with kids. A train ride into the city centre such as Shinjuku.
The rooms were spacious, homely, clean and comfortable. Tamachi is not too far from Ginza, but a bit further away from hotspots like Shibuya and Roppongi. Thankfully the subway is a short 5 minute walk away. Probably the biggest takeaway from our...
