HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what struck me first about Royale Palms? It’s actually one of those places that looks better in person than in photos – and that doesn’t happen often anymore. The moment you pull up to 10000 Beach Club Drive, you get this sense that someone really thought through the whole experience. The parking situation is honestly pretty decent (which, if you’ve ever dealt with Myrtle Beach during peak season, you know is half the battle), and the lobby has this relaxed but polished vibe that immediately tells you you’re not staying at some cookie-cutter resort.
The condos themselves are where this place really shines. I mean, when they say four stars, they actually mean it – these aren’t those cramped hotel rooms where you’re tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. The kitchens are legitimately functional, not just for show, which is clutch if you want to grab groceries from the Harris Teeter down on 21st Avenue and save some money on meals. The balconies… well, let’s just say if you score one of the oceanview units, you’ll understand why people keep coming back year after year. There’s something about watching the sunrise over the Atlantic with your morning coffee that makes you forget about whatever chaos you left behind at home.
What I really appreciate about Royale Palms is how it manages to feel upscale without being stuffy. The pool area gets lively but never rowdy – families during the day, couples in the evening. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re trying to unwind. And honestly, the location is sort of perfect if you know Myrtle Beach at all. You’re far enough from the Broadway at the Beach madness to actually sleep at night, but close enough that a quick drive gets you to all the action when you want it. The beach access is direct – no shuttles or long walks through other properties – and the stretch of sand here tends to be less crowded than what you’ll find further north near the piers. I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times I found myself thinking “okay, this is exactly what a beach vacation should feel like.” It’s that sweet spot between luxury and comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find.
