The Pacific just spreads out endlessly, and you can see the famous San Alfonso del Mar resort complex stretching along the coastline – you know, the one with that massive lagoon pool everyone talks about.

What I really appreciate about this place is how it feels like you’re staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. The building itself is solid – none of that paper-thin wall nonsense you get at some beachfront places – so you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway or, honestly, the neighbor’s TV at 2 AM. The staff actually knows the area too, which is rarer than you’d think. They’ll tell you the best time to hit the beach (early morning before the Santiago families arrive on weekends), where to grab fresh empanadas that aren’t tourist-priced, and – this was clutch – which days the local markets in Algarrobo proper are worth the short drive. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot during Chilean summer holidays will tell you is basically a miracle.

I mean, a 9.7 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after spending a few nights here, it makes sense. The attention to detail is just… there. Fresh towels that actually smell like ocean air instead of industrial detergent, a kitchen setup that’s functional if you want to cook (the local fish market is maybe ten minutes away), and honestly, the kind of quiet that lets you hear the waves without straining. Mirasol itself is perfectly positioned – close enough to the action in Algarrobo when you want restaurants and nightlife, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos. The sunsets from that eighth-floor perch are genuinely spectacular, especially during autumn when the light gets all golden and dramatic. You’ll find yourself just standing on the balcony with a pisco sour, watching the fishing boats head out, thinking this is exactly what a proper Chilean coast experience should feel like.
