Look, I’ll be straight with you about Sibaya Beach Resort – it’s one of those places where the location absolutely saves the day, even when everything else feels a bit… well, inconsistent. You’re literally right on Morjim Beach, which honestly is still one of Goa’s better-kept secrets compared to the chaos down south. The Russian tourists figured this out years ago, so you’ll hear more Russian than Hindi some days, but that actually gives the whole stretch a different vibe than your typical Goa beach scene.

The resort itself sits back from the main beach road – you know, that bumpy stretch that connects Morjim to Arambol – and when you first pull up, it looks impressive enough. Five-star rating and all that. But here’s the thing: once you’re inside, you start noticing the little stuff that doesn’t quite match up. The rooms are spacious, don’t get me wrong, and the beds are actually comfortable (which isn’t always a given in beach hotels), but there’s this feeling like maintenance isn’t quite keeping up with the ambitions. I mean, the AC works fine and the bathrooms are decent, just… you can tell this place has seen better days.

What really works here though is stepping out onto that beach in the morning. Morjim’s got this wide, clean stretch of sand, and if you’re up early enough – before the beach shacks start blasting music – it’s genuinely peaceful. The turtle nesting season runs from October to March, so there’s actually some conservation activity happening right in front of the hotel, which is pretty cool to witness. The resort’s restaurant does solid Goan fish curry, and their breakfast spread is better than you’d expect given some of the other inconsistencies. Plus, you’re walking distance from some excellent beach shacks – Sublime and Saraya are both worth trying, and the locals will point you toward the good stuff if you ask. Parking’s never really an issue here since it’s not as packed as Baga or Calangute, and honestly, that’s half the battle won in Goa. Just manage your expectations a bit – the 6.1 rating probably tells you what you need to know about the service and upkeep, but sometimes a great location and decent bones are enough, especially if you’re planning to spend most of your time on the beach anyway.
