Look, I’ll be straight with you about Silver Sand Beach Resort – it’s one of those places that gets the location absolutely right, even if everything else isn’t quite perfect. You’re literally on Beach No. 5 in Vijay Nagar, which honestly is the sweet spot of Havelock. Not the circus that Radhanagar can become during peak season, but still gorgeous white sand and that impossibly blue water the Andamans are famous for.

The resort itself feels properly tropical without being too polished, if that makes sense. You know how some five-star places can feel sterile? This isn’t that. The palm trees actually look like they grew here naturally (because they probably did), and you can hear the waves from pretty much everywhere on the property. Check-in was smooth enough – the staff genuinely seem to know the island well, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to figure out ferry schedules or where to rent decent snorkeling gear. The rooms are comfortable, though I mean, you’re not coming to Havelock to spend time indoors anyway. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. The beach here doesn’t get the party crowd, so you actually sleep well with the windows open.

Here’s what really sold me on the place – the access to the water is unbeatable. You walk maybe thirty seconds from your room and you’re on sand that’s still relatively uncrowded, even during the busy months. The snorkeling right off the beach is actually decent too, though obviously Elephant Beach is still the main event for that. The resort’s restaurant does solid fresh fish (they source locally, which shows), and honestly, after a day of island hopping or diving, sitting there with a beer watching the sunset hits just right. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it nails the fundamentals of what you want from a beach resort in the Andamans. The location alone puts it ahead of places that might have fancier lobbies but stick you twenty minutes from decent water. If you’re the type who values being able to walk out for a sunrise swim over having a spa menu with forty treatments, this works really well.
