Snake River Lodge & Spa Overview
First Impressions
Pulling up to Snake River Lodge & Spa feels like arriving at someone’s incredibly well-appointed mountain home — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget. The timber and stone facade blends so naturally with the Teton landscape that you almost miss it at first, which is exactly the point. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Teton Village, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better for couples looking to escape without feeling completely isolated from civilization.
The Setting
What strikes you immediately is how the lodge manages to feel both grand and intimate. The lobby’s soaring ceilings and massive stone fireplace create this wonderful sense of arrival, but the seating areas are arranged so you never feel lost in the space. You know what I love most? The way they’ve positioned everything to frame those Teton views — it’s like having a living postcard outside every window. The village itself is compact and walkable, which means you can actually leave your car parked and forget about it for days.
Accommodations That Actually Work
The room I stayed in was what I’d call “mountain sophisticated” — think rich fabrics, local artwork, and furniture that’s actually comfortable rather than just photogenic. The beds are seriously good (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms feel more like home spas than hotel afterthoughts. Most rooms come with either a fireplace or a balcony, sometimes both, and the suites have full kitchens if you’re planning a longer stay. The whole place feels designed by people who actually travel themselves.
Dining and Wellness
The restaurant here — GameFish — serves the kind of food that makes you want to linger over dinner, which works perfectly since the mountain views from the dining room change constantly as the light shifts. I mean, the elk tenderloin was exceptional, but even the simpler dishes felt thoughtfully prepared. The spa deserves its own mention — it’s not huge, but the treatments incorporate local elements like juniper and sage, and the relaxation areas have these incredible mountain views that make you want to extend every session.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances accessibility with that authentic mountain lodge feeling. You’re literally steps from the Jackson Hole gondola in winter, but the property never feels overrun or touristy. Couples especially seem to gravitate here because there’s this perfect mix of activities and relaxation — you can spend the morning hiking or skiing, afternoon at the spa, and evening by the fire with a good bottle of wine. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward hidden gems, whether that’s a quiet hiking trail or the best spot to watch the sunset over the Tetons. It’s the kind of place where you arrive stressed and leave wondering why you don’t do this more often.

It was very pretty lobby. Unloading and parking was a problem especially not having any help by any of the stuff!
