You know what? Snow Bloom Resort is one of those places where the name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. I mean, tucked up on Naggar Road in Manali, you get these incredible mountain views that honestly look like someone’s screensaver – except it’s real and you’re sipping chai while looking at it. The resort sits at just the right spot where you’re close enough to the main Manali action (maybe a 10-minute drive to Mall Road) but far enough that you don’t hear the constant honking and tourist chaos.

The five-star rating feels right when you walk through the lobby, though I’ll be honest – the 6.9 guest rating tells you this isn’t your typical luxury experience. It’s more like… upscale mountain comfort, if that makes sense. The rooms are solid with those big windows that frame the valley perfectly, and the heating actually works (which, trust me, matters more than you think in Manali winters). What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that cozy hill station vibe without going overboard on the rustic thing – you know how some mountain hotels try too hard with all the wood paneling and end up feeling like a hunting lodge? Not here. The staff genuinely knows the area too, which is refreshing. They’ll tell you the actual best times to visit Rohtang Pass or which local restaurants won’t give you Delhi belly.

Here’s the thing though – and maybe this explains that rating – it’s not flawless. The WiFi can be spotty (welcome to the mountains), and sometimes the hot water takes its sweet time in the mornings. But honestly? If you’re coming to Manali to stay glued to your phone, you’re missing the point anyway. The real magic happens on their terrace restaurant during evening hours when the mist starts rolling in and the whole valley goes quiet except for maybe some distant temple bells. The food is actually decent – they do a proper butter chicken and their dal is comfort food perfect after a day of wandering around Old Manali. Just don’t expect Mumbai-level service speed; everything runs on hill time here, which is either charming or frustrating depending on your mood. I’d definitely stay again, especially during apple season when the whole area smells incredible and you can practically taste the mountain air.
