Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Sapporo Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Solaria Nishitetsu, I wasn’t expecting much from another mid-range hotel in Sapporo’s business district. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Japanese without being cliché, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk through the door (which, you know what, isn’t always a given even at nice hotels).
What really sold me on this place was the location – and I mean the real, practical stuff that matters when you’re actually trying to get around Sapporo. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Sapporo Station, which means you can stumble back from Susukino’s bars without paying for a taxi, and the underground walkway connections mean you barely have to go outside during those brutal Hokkaido winters. The rooms themselves are compact but thoughtfully designed – I mean, this is Japan, so you’re not getting a sprawling American-style suite, but everything has its place and the bed is surprisingly comfortable. The bathrooms are small but functional with those fantastic Japanese toilets that make you question why the rest of the world hasn’t figured this out yet.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the little touches that show someone actually thinks about guest experience. The vending machines on each floor stock local Sapporo beer (not just the usual suspects), there’s a decent breakfast buffet that includes proper Japanese options alongside Western stuff, and the front desk keeps umbrellas you can borrow without leaving a deposit. The elevators are quick, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling luggage up to the 15th floor. I stayed during late spring and the area gets pretty lively – you can hear some street noise if you’re a light sleeper, but honestly it just sounds like city life, not construction or anything obnoxious. One minor gripe: the air conditioning can be a bit temperamental, though the staff sorted it out quickly when I mentioned it. For the price point and that 8.8 rating, the Solaria Nishitetsu delivers exactly what it promises – a solid, well-located base for exploring Sapporo without any unpleasant surprises.

Comfortable bed
Hugh quality hotel with very nice rooms, and facilities and in particular the public baths (seperate men and women baths) are very luxurious.
Clean , and close to city center and station
What could be improved: Rooms a bit small
The location is good. You can walk to the station and shopping mall easily from the hotel . You can park a car at the hotel where parking fees are charged. The room is new and clean. The breakfast is o.k but not much choices .
Great location, clean rooms

Close to the Sapporo station and airport shuttle buses. The breakfast was also amazing and had a good variety. We had a corner room so room was large and spacious.

What could be improved: Parking
Great location that was an easy walk from Sapporo station and close to most sightseeing locations within the city. Loved the hot spring baths. What could be improved: The door was locked at midnight and we didn't arrive until 12:30 am, and it wasn't...
