I mean, the air conditioning actually works properly – which honestly isn’t a given in this part of India – and the bathrooms have solid water pressure. The Wi-Fi is reliable too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to upload all those sunset photos from the City Palace.

You’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk to the old city, but you can also easily grab an auto-rickshaw or taxi when your feet give out from all that sightseeing. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet in the evenings – no honking traffic or late-night street vendors – so you can actually get some decent sleep. And breakfast? They do this amazing spread with both Indian and continental options, but honestly, go for the local stuff. Their masala chai is the real deal. Look, it’s not perfect – the elevator can be a bit slow during busy periods, and like most places in Udaipur, parking can be tight if you’re driving. But for the price point and that solid 8.0 rating, The Amar Mahal delivers exactly what you want from a five-star stay in Rajasthan: authentic charm, modern comfort, and a staff that actually cares about making your trip memorable.
