Honestly, when I first pulled up to The Inverness Denver, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked away in Englewood, which sounds way more exciting than it actually is. But you know what? This place completely surprised me. The setting is genuinely gorgeous, perched on this rolling golf course with the Rockies creating this dramatic backdrop that makes you forget you’re basically in a suburb. I mean, the drive up Inverness Drive West itself is pretty scenic, winding through these manicured grounds that feel more like a private estate than a hotel property.

What really got me was how the place manages to feel both upscale and approachable at the same time. The lobby has this warm, mountain lodge vibe – lots of stone and wood, but not in that over-the-top way some Colorado hotels do it. The spa is actually worth the splurge (which, let’s be honest, I wasn’t planning on), and the golf course is the real star here. Even if you don’t play, just walking around the grounds in the evening when the light hits those mountains is pretty spectacular. The rooms are solid Hilton quality – nothing groundbreaking, but comfortable beds, decent bathrooms, and most importantly, they’re quiet. You’d think being near C-470 would mean highway noise, but the property is set back far enough that you mainly hear… well, not much of anything, which is kind of perfect after dealing with Denver traffic.

Here’s the thing though – location-wise, you’re not exactly in the heart of anything exciting. Downtown Denver is a good 20-minute drive north, and while there are some decent restaurants nearby (Sheridan Boulevard has some hidden gems), you’ll probably end up eating at the hotel more than you planned. The parking is free and plentiful, which honestly feels like a small miracle these days. Staff-wise, they’ve got that professional-but-friendly Colorado thing down pat – helpful without being hovering. I’d definitely come back, especially if I wanted to actually relax instead of cramming in every tourist spot in Denver. It’s one of those places where you can sit on the terrace with a drink, watch people tee off while the sun sets behind the mountains, and think “yeah, this is exactly what I needed.” Not bad for a 4-star spot that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
