The building sits right on Simonton Street in the thick of downtown Key West, but there’s something refreshingly understated about its presence — no flashy signage or over-the-top tropical theming that screams “tourist trap.” Instead, you get this sense of authentic island sophistication that honestly feels rare in a destination where so many places try too hard.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is actually what sold me on this place initially. You’re literally steps from Duval Street’s energy, but far enough away that you won’t hear every drunk tourist singing Jimmy Buffett at 2 AM. I mean, couples consistently rate the location a 9.0 for good reason — you can walk to Mallory Square for sunset, hit the better restaurant without needing a car, and still retreat to relative peace. The parking situation is handled on-site too, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot in Old Town will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Room Experience

My room had this clean, contemporary feel that somehow still honored the island’s laid-back vibe. The design doesn’t try to be overly tropical — no palm frond wallpaper or bamboo furniture — but you’ll find thoughtful touches that remind you where you are. What I appreciated most was the attention to actual comfort: blackout curtains that work (crucial when you want to sleep past sunrise), a bathroom with decent water pressure, and air conditioning that can actually handle Florida humidity.

Amenities & Activities

The fitness center is small but functional — honestly, you’re probably going to be walking miles around the island anyway, so it’s more about having the option. There’s a golf course within a couple miles if that’s your thing, though I’d argue the real draw here is the fishing opportunities. The staff actually knows which charter captains are worth your time, and they’re not just pushing whoever gives them the biggest kickback. The breakfast buffet is solid without being spectacular — fresh fruit, decent coffee, and enough variety to fuel whatever adventure you’ve got planned.
