The Vail Collection at the Ritz Carlton Residences Vail Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Vail Collection at the Ritz Carlton Residences Vail feels less like checking into a hotel and more like arriving at your own mountain retreat. I mean, the location alone — right in the heart of Vail at Lionshead Circle — puts you steps away from the gondola and the village buzz, but somehow the property maintains this sense of refined calm. It’s a four-star experience that honestly punches above its weight, especially when you realize you’re getting true residence-style accommodations rather than typical hotel room.
The Accommodations
What sets this place apart is that you’re staying in actual residences, not just oversized hotel rooms. Each unit comes with a full kitchen, which I actually used more than I expected — there’s something satisfying about making morning coffee while looking out at the mountains. The spaces feel genuinely lived-in rather than sterile, with thoughtful touches like quality cookware and enough counter space to spread out. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the furnishings — everything from the linens to the mountain-view positioning of the living areas shows someone really thought about how people actually want to relax after a day on the slopes.
Location and Village Access
The location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely that good. You can walk to Lionshead Village in under two minutes, which means easy access to the gondola, shops, and that whole après-ski scene without dealing with shuttles or driving. But here’s the thing couples seem to love most (and I get why the rating mentions this): you can slip away from the village energy just as easily. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too — private spots on-site, which anyone who’s dealt with Vail parking will appreciate.
Activities and Amenities
The fitness center is well-equipped without being overwhelming, and honestly, after a day of skiing or hiking, it’s perfect for some gentle stretching. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d enjoy the proximity to the golf course — even in shoulder seasons, the mountain views from the course are spectacular. The fishing access within the area is legitimate too, not just some tourist add-on. There’s also this sense that the staff actually knows the returning guests — and apparently there are quite a few of them, which tells you something about the experience.
Why Guests Love It
The repeat guest factor here is real, and after staying, I understand why. It’s that sweet spot where you get the services and quality you want without feeling like you’re in some corporate hotel bubble. The residence setup means you can actually settle in for longer stays, and the Lionshead location gives you that authentic Vail experience without the pretension you sometimes find at other properties. Whether you’re here for winter sports or summer mountain activities, the place just works — it feels like a thoughtful base camp rather than just somewhere to sleep.
Guest Reviews
Amazing valet staff. We were traveling in a large SUV with a car top carrier that was unable to be parked in the garage. The valet staff were so accommodating to us for our entire stay! Also love the shuttle service to the village. Great feature and...

Very clean, staff was very kind and helpful, especially the valet.
I really liked how each unit has it's own wifi. Own password etc. Was quick and worked well. The residences were large and beds were comfy. I think they allowed dogs, which made for some pet hair being in the unit. Besides that and the $55 per night...
A lux property with boot room to keep ones ski boots at night, and ski valet right by the lift. Pleasant live performance at the hotel bar everyday at 5. Our condo is beautifully decorated. Nice outdoor pool and hot tubs to relax.
