HOTEL OVERVIEW
So you know how Vegas hotels can feel like massive, soulless casinos with rooms tacked on? Well, The Venetian actually manages to pull off something different – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking into this place is honestly like stepping into some fever dream version of Venice, complete with painted ceilings that’ll make you do a double-take (they’re supposed to look like sky, and weirdly enough, they kind of do). The whole Italian thing could’ve been cheesy, but they committed so hard to the bit that it somehow works.
Here’s what actually matters though – the suites are legitimately huge by Vegas standards. I’m talking separate living areas, marble bathrooms where you can actually move around, and those little touches that make you feel less like you’re crashing in a standard hotel box. The beds are solid, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than most places on the Strip, which you’ll appreciate when the party crowd stumbles past at 3 AM. Location-wise, you’re right in the thick of things but not quite at the Bellagio-level chaos – it’s maybe a five-minute walk to get to the real madness if that’s what you’re after. The Forum Shops are literally connected, which is dangerous for your wallet but convenient when you realize you forgot to pack something essential.
The gondola rides are touristy as hell, but you know what? Sometimes touristy is exactly what Vegas calls for. Just don’t expect authentic Venetian gondoliers – these guys are probably from Ohio and trained for like two weeks. The restaurants range from decent to genuinely impressive (Bouchon Bistro is worth the splurge), though you’ll pay Vegas prices for everything. Pool scene gets absolutely packed during pool party season, so if you’re looking for a quiet swim, aim for early mornings or late fall visits. One thing that surprised me – the casino floor doesn’t feel as overwhelming as some of the newer mega-resorts, maybe because all that fake Italian architecture breaks up the space. Parking is typical Strip nightmare during busy weekends, but the valet folks are pretty efficient. Check-in can be a bit of a production, especially if you arrive during convention season – basically any Tuesday through Thursday when the business crowd descends. The staff generally knows their stuff though, and they’re not pushy about upsells like some places that shall remain nameless. If you’re doing Vegas and want something that feels a little more upscale without being stuffy, this place hits that sweet spot between spectacle and comfort.

The room was clean, nice and big and the bed was comfy. When we first checked into the hotel, the room we were assigned was very dark, without a lot of natural light because it was next to a building. The staff was able to change our room and we had a nice view overlooking the sphere with much better lighting.
