I mean, they’ve basically created this mini water park that somehow doesn’t feel chaotic or overly kid-focused, which is honestly kind of genius given how many families end up in Ka’anapali.
The location is really what makes this place work. You’re right on Ka’anapali Beach – and I’m talking about the good stretch, not the rocky bits you sometimes get stuck with at other resorts. The sand actually stays pretty clean here because the hotel staff does early morning cleanup, something you notice if you’re an early riser like me. Plus, you can walk to Whalers Village in about ten minutes if you need to grab something or want dinner options beyond the resort (though honestly, their Relish Burger Bistro is surprisingly solid). The parking situation is straightforward – valet or self-park in their garage – which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many Maui hotels make this unnecessarily complicated.
What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed the crowds. Sure, it gets busy during peak season (basically December through April, and summers when mainland families travel), but the property is spread out enough that you can find quiet spots. The adults-only pool area near the spa is clutch if you’re trying to avoid the splash zone, and the beach chairs – well, you’ll want to claim those early, but there’s usually something available if you’re flexible about location. The rooms themselves are exactly what you’d expect from a Westin, nothing groundbreaking but comfortable beds and those shower heads with actual water pressure. Some of the oceanview rooms on the higher floors give you this perfect angle where you can watch the sunset behind Lanai, which is worth the upgrade if you’re celebrating something special. Check-in can be a bit of a zoo during weekend changeover days, but the staff generally keeps things moving. Just don’t expect lightning-fast service everywhere – this is island time, after all, and honestly that’s part of why you came to Maui in the first place, right?

Absolutely beautiful stay right on the beachfront. Multiple dining options onsite and a short walk to whalers village with plenty of shopping and eating options. The grounds are beautifully kept and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. While the price is on the higher side we definently think it’s worth every cent and would love to come back.
