It’s far enough from the main Radhanagar Beach crowds (about a 10-minute walk if you’re curious), but close enough that you can easily hop over when you want that famous sunset everyone talks about. The thing is, Beach No. 5 actually has this quieter, more intimate vibe – you know what I mean? Less of the day-tripper chaos, more of that “am I really in India right now” feeling.

What struck me first was how they’ve managed to keep things sophisticated without losing that laid-back island essence. The architecture feels intentionally understated – none of that over-the-top resort nonsense you see elsewhere. Actually, walking through the property, you notice they’ve worked around the existing trees rather than bulldozing everything, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to escape and decompress. The rooms face either the ocean or these lush tropical gardens, and I’ll be real with you – even the garden view rooms are pretty spectacular because the sound of waves is constant anyway. Check-in was refreshingly smooth too, not the usual island-time delays you sometimes get (though honestly, island-time can be part of the charm).

The food situation deserves its own mention because, well, you’re on a remote island and restaurant options are limited. Their restaurant actually sources a lot locally – and I mean truly locally, not just marketing speak. You’ll taste fish that was probably swimming that morning, and they do this incredible thing with coconut that shows up in unexpected places. The breakfast spread has both continental stuff for less adventurous eaters and regional specialties that are worth trying even if you’re usually hesitant about local cuisine. One small thing – the evening dining can get a bit pricey, but then again, you’re paying for the setting as much as the food, and that ocean backdrop during dinner is pretty hard to argue with.

Here’s what I’d actually tell someone thinking about staying here: it’s legitimately peaceful in a way that’s hard to find anymore. No aggressive beach vendors, no blaring music from nearby bars, just that gentle sound of waves and palm trees doing their thing. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience rather than just going through the motions – they’ll remember your name, suggest things to do that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots, that sort of thing. Sure, it’s not cheap, but for what you get – and where you are – it feels fair. The whole place just works, you know? Sometimes you stay somewhere and there are little annoyances that add up, but here, everything felt thoughtfully considered. If you’re looking for a place to properly unwind and you don’t mind being a bit removed from the main action, this is probably your spot.
