The local markets are a quick rickshaw ride away, and if you’re into the historical stuff, you can easily get to places like Takhteshwar Temple or the old palace areas. The hotel’s restaurant serves decent Gujarati thali – not the best I’ve had, but solid and filling. The breakfast spread is pretty basic, but they make fresh parathas that hit the spot. Parking is never an issue here, which anyone who’s driven in Indian cities will appreciate. The evenings can get a bit noisy since you’re on a main road, but it dies down after 10 PM mostly. I’d recommend packing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, though the ceiling fans help mask some of the street sounds. The 5.8 rating makes sense when you think about it – it’s not going to blow you away, but it delivers on the basics without breaking the bank, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re more interested in exploring the city than lounging around your hotel room.
