The location is actually brilliant if you know Pench well — being close to Khursapar gate means you’re hitting different territory than most tourists who stick to the main Turia entrance. I mean, you’re still only 11km from Turia if you want those classic routes, but having Khursapar practically on your doorstep opens up some really pristine forest areas. The couples who frequent this place have figured out that morning safaris from here often yield better tiger sightings because you’re accessing less crowded zones. It’s one of those insider advantages that makes you feel slightly smug about your choice.

The room I stayed in was comfortable without trying too hard — think clean lines, decent air conditioning that actually works, and windows that frame the surrounding greenery perfectly. What struck me most was how quiet everything gets at night; you’re far enough from Nagpur (about an hour’s drive) that the only sounds are insects and the occasional langur monkey having what sounds like a heated debate in the trees.
