Vessel Inn Chiba Ekimae Overview
You know what really struck me about Vessel Inn Chiba Ekimae? It’s one of those places that gets the basics so right, you almost forget you’re staying at a business hotel. I mean, when you step out of Chiba Station’s east exit and walk maybe three minutes down Fujimi-dori, there it is – this clean, modern building that doesn’t try too hard to impress but somehow does anyway.
The lobby actually feels welcoming instead of sterile, which is honestly rare for this style of hotel in Japan. Check-in was smooth (they had English-speaking staff when I visited, though my Japanese is pretty terrible), and here’s something I appreciated – the elevator cards worked consistently. Sounds silly, but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, with these great little touches like plenty of outlets near the bed and a desk that’s actually usable if you need to get work done. The bathrooms are those prefab units you see everywhere in Japan, but they’re spotless and the water pressure is solid. I stayed on the seventh floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though you’re literally steps from one of Chiba’s busier areas.
What really makes this place work is the location – and I don’t just mean “convenient to the station” (though it obviously is). You’re right in the heart of Chiba’s business district, so there are tons of restaurants within walking distance. There’s this excellent yakitori place called Torikizoku about two blocks away that locals actually go to, plus a 7-Eleven right across the street for those late-night snack runs. If you’re heading to Tokyo Disneyland or Disney Sea, the bus stops are right there at the station – way easier than dealing with the train transfers from some of the resort hotels. The staff seemed genuinely helpful when I asked about getting around, not just politely distant. Honestly, for the price point and that 8.6 rating, I get it. It’s not fancy, but it nails what business travelers and tourists actually need. The wifi worked great, the air conditioning didn’t sound like a jet engine, and I slept well. Sometimes that’s all you really want from a hotel stay.
Guest Reviews
The location was very close to the train station and the food was good, they even had sashimi for breakfast! At this hotel, my husband said this was the best sleep he had. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
Room provided everything I needed.
Breakfast offered a variety of japanese and eastern food and was delicious.
All staff members were so kind and bravely endured my poor japanese communication skills.
Thank you!
We enjoyed the buffet Japanese food. There was a great variety of dishes. The popsicle after the hot bath at the onsen was amazing.
What could be improved: This is our second time there and if I come again I would love to stay there again.
This is the third time I’ve stayed at the Vessel Ekimae location and for a mid level hotel it is very cost effective.
The location was close to the JR station. Staff was very hospitable. Room was very nice and comfy. I enjoyed my stay here.
What could be improved: Did not have anything to complain about this place.
Great breatfast in Japanese and Western style.
I liked that it’s close to the train and monorail stations. The breakfast here is good but not as good as other Vessel Inn hotels that’s I’ve stayed in. Room size was good but bathroom a little small. Public bath was great. I loved the location the...
convenient location, clean, quiet. room is small but that is expected in this part of the world. Having a hot bath is a plus. Breakfast is excellent!
What could be improved: The bath area is on the small side
Clean room with nice view.
What could be improved: Hotspring is opened too late in the morning, should be opened at 5 am.
The hotel was in a great location, close to all the shops/restaurants. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was the cleanest hotel we stayed in during our holiday to Japan!
